Market Update

Friday, November 6, 2026

What's going on, and why does it matter?
Mortgage pricing may be volatile today as financial markets digest the monthly jobs report, which came in much stronger than expected. The data show 165,000 jobs were created last month, average wages grew 0.4%, and the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%. This may trigger a stock market rebound after yesterday's massive sell-off in tech stocks.

What should you do about it?
Watch to see if mortgage bonds can remain in positive territory above their 10-day moving average, but be prepared to lock your rate if they break below that level.
